Favorite seafood restaurant:
Oystercatchers. It has the freshest seafood and a world-class view of sunsets on the bay.
Favorite happy hour spot:
Café Dufrain because it is close to our home, has an outdoor patio and is a place where everyone knows your name.
Favorite sports bar:
Hattricks. They have good food, good staff and the best wings in town – shake and bake style!
Favorite Bay-area beach:
Pass-a-Grille Beach. It is 25 minutes from our home on Harbour Island, but when you arrive, you feel like you’ve left the area and are in another world – and no two sunsets are the same!
Favorite place for a power lunch:
Kona Grill. It has something for everyone, and it is conveniently located in the Westshore business district.
Favorite burger joint:
El Cap in St. Pete. It’s the greasiest guilty pleasure in the area – well worth the trip across the bay.
Favorite place to relax outdoors:
Plant Park at the University of Tampa. It is quiet on almost any day. You can take in the river, see downtown and be on the campus of a bustling, growing university (and my alma mater).
Favorite dive bar:
The Hub. It’s an instant reminder of a long pour and days of old for many of us.
Favorite pizza:
Eddie & Sam’s. Made with New York water, their pizza makes you feel like you’re back home – I grew up in New York.
Favorite place for an authentic Tampa meal:
La Teresita is classic Tampa – try the chicken and yellow rice!
