Best sushi:
Kelp Sushi Joint has a comfortable vibe and fresh, vibrant rolls. I love to go there with friends or family for all occasions.
Favorite BBQ:
As a family, we love to go to Jimbo’s Pit Bar B-Q. They have large tables, and the food comes quickly and is delicious.
Favorite beach restaurant:
Agave in St. Pete Beach is the best little Mexican place. They’re crowded after an awesome day on the beach, but it’s the place to go to for margaritas and fried tacos.
Favorite local boutique:
Bluemercury Cosmetics is a one-stop shop, and they are very friendly. I love Oribe products, and they have a wide selection.
Favorite store:
My book collection is large thanks to the manager at Oxford Exchange. I have special ordered books as well as picked ones out in the store. It is the place to go to for greeting cards and gifts during the holidays or for any occasion.
Best fine dining:
I love character and unique décor. I recently went to Charley’s Steak House with a great friend, and we sat in this booth that was made out of old antique wire headboard – plus the food was amazing.
Best burger joint:
I love cheeseburgers and can’t wait to try Goody Goody in Hyde Park Village.
Favorite happy hour:
The goat cheese balls at Fly Bar are amazing. Plus, after happy hour, you can walk to the Tampa Theatre to see a film.
Favorite place to relax outdoors:
I love to grab a blanket and a friend and go to Davis Islands Park. You can watch the planes land or boats going in or out or just take a nap in the sun.
Favorite gym:
Youfit has multiple locations, and the staff is friendly. I enjoy the one at the corner of Hillsborough Avenue and Race Track Road. My gym buddy and I call it the “fancy gym.”
Favorite beach:
Longboat Key is across a few bridges but worth the drive. I leave early in the day. I remember going there as a child, and it is still the best place to escape to for a very quiet beach day.
Favorite craft cocktail:
They serve a great Old Fashioned at Datz. Go to the back bar, and order the shrimp and grits, too. It is the perfect place for a date or a solo dinner.
Night out with the boys:
When we aren’t in a dancing mood, we go bowling. Pinarama on South Dale Mabry and Gandy is super clean and very friendly.
Favorite pizza:
Hands down, Tampa Pizza Company. I get the arugula and prosciutto with fig jam. It’s amazing.
