The Historic Hyde Park Neighborhood Association will host its 12th annual home tour on Saturday, March 1 from 9am to 3pm. This year’s tour, entitled “A Walk in Historic Hyde Park, will feature nine homes in Hyde Park and highlight the “walkability and urban nature” of the neighborhood. Each home will represent different architectural styles, such as Prairie, Craftsman and California style Bungalows, Colonial Revivals, Tudor and Brick mansions. Each year, the Home Tour gives the public a chance to step inside some of Hyde Park’s most beautiful homes, and be treated to tastings from local restaurants. Home Tour chairperson Kari Adams says they’ll also present two new elements to this year’s tour.
“An innovative pop-up History Center will present original house plans, historic photos and area experts who specialize in renovation, restoration and historic preservation,” Adams says. “In addition, the team from the City of Tampa’s Tree-Mendous Tampa Community Tree Program will be planting a tree while educating attendees on how to obtain free trees and help conserve the urban forest and shade canopy of Hyde Park.”
