Coastal Living: West Shore

Michael and Wesley Winer knew they wanted to live in the West Shore District when they went house hunting in 2006. They spent months driving through neighborhoods in the area before landing at this classic Mediterranean-style villa. The family entrusted the reputation of Ultra Custom Home Design to help them remodel and reconfigure the layout of the home and better fit their tastes. Among the many highlights of the home is the kitchen with blue louise granite, copper sink basin, Wolf appliances and a built-in cappuccino and espresso maker, a children’s playroom and separate themed children’s bedrooms painted by Joanna Greene, a wireless security and control system by Life Integrated, a stunningly decorated master bedroom, and a 300-plus SQ FT walk-in closet that serves as a personal dressing room for Wesley.

Michael says that being on the water has always been their dream. When designing their dream home, he said they wanted resort-style amenities that would rival any waterfront hotel. They started by redesigning the standard rectangular pool into a lagoon-style pool with a beach entry and a hot tub. They also incorporated a full-service outdoor kitchen and a covered boatlift.
